How to Keep Online Students Engaged and Motivated

By April 20, 2023Student Community

Each year, students across Idaho are switching from their traditional brick-and-mortar schools to online schools because they see how much online schooling has to offer. At iSucceed Virtual Schools, students enjoy a flexible schedule, have more time for extracurricular activities and complete their schoolwork from the comfort and safety of home.

When it comes to online schooling, an effective learning experience is vital for success. Because of this, we’ve put together some tips to help you stay engaged and motivated as an online student.

Get Organized

Staying organized is key to staying on top of your online studies. A great way to do this is to come up with a study schedule that works for you. Set aside a certain amount of time to devote to your online studies and prioritize tasks so you don’t become overwhelmed.

Maintain a Supportive Network

Make sure to stay connected with your classmates and instructors. Reach out to ask questions, collaborate on projects and discuss what you learned in class with your peers. Having a supportive network will not only help you learn better, but it will make it easier to remain motivated in your studies.

Take Breaks

Taking small breaks throughout the school day makes all the difference when it comes to staying engaged and motivated. You can take a break to relax, go for a walk, eat a snack, or do something else that you enjoy. You can follow a routine with your breaks by scheduling them throughout the day.

Set Goals & Reward Yourself

Setting clear goals is crucial for staying on track in your online classes. Having a goal to work toward will keep you motivated. Be sure to make smaller goals along with larger goals. Having both short-term and long-term goals will help keep you focused throughout the school year. Once you have accomplished your goals, be sure to reward yourself!
