We’ve partnered with AVID. Here’s how it’ll get you ready for college and a career

By August 24, 2018August 20th, 2019Uncategorized

Do you know your plans after graduation?

You may know the answer to that, you might have no idea. You might even be doubtful you can make it through college anyway.

Whatever your circumstances, you can get accepted and make it to college. And we’re here to help you accomplish that.

This year, we’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), and that makes us the first online school in Idaho to offer it.

Although a nationally renowned organization, there’s a good chance you probably haven’t heard of AVID. See how this program can help you become college and career ready while getting ahead in college credits below.

What is AVID?

AVID is an evidence-based program that assists students with organization, college and career planning and goal setting while building on academic abilities and strengths.

Qualifying students at iSucceed will get to enroll in elective-based AVID courses. Just like the rest of your schooling, these courses will be 100% online and are centered around growing writing, critical thinking, collaborative and reading comprehension skills.

How this national program helps low-income, at-risk students throughout the country:

This program is spreading throughout the country quickly, because it gets results. For more information, check out this USA Today article.

How can AVID help me?

If you’re behind on credits…

Some students may have past academic struggles resulting in a lack of credits towards graduation.

If you’re needing to catch up on credits and not sure if you’ll be able to get into college, apply for the AVID program. It will help you build the critical skills you need for college while working personally with someone to set and accomplish your goals.

If you are on track or set to graduate early…

Then AVID is great for you too! We utilize the program to increase students’ use of the state’s Advanced Opportunities program. In other words, we’ll help you challenge yourself to get ahead in college credits, by enrolling in rigorous courses such as Honors, Dual Credit and AP courses.

“iSucceed’s mission is to help serve students with a variety of needs who require an alternative form of instruction to complete their high school studies,” said Executive Director Katie Allison. “We saw a need in Idaho to deliver the AVID program online to all interested students, and this program will give iSucceed students robust skills that will not only boost academic performance but set the stage for organization and goal setting skills they can use for the rest of their lives.”
