New Valedictorian and Graduating Speakers Policies

Beginning this year, iSucceed now recognizes any student who has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 or better as a Valedictorian. This is now our sole requirement for this honor and it means we may have more than one Valedictorian in the school year. This replaces our old practice of choosing just 1 Valedictorian and also offering a Salutatorian honor as well. We did this both to make the process simpler and also to allow for any student who earns this GPA to qualify. In our school, students graduate every quarter, but we only have one ceremony at the end of the school year. Being Valedictorian is not the only honor students can earn during graduation: We offer an Advanced Diploma option for students earning college credit in high school, and also all students participating in the graduation ceremony who have a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better are given Honors Cords to wear denoting this distinction.

One other change to our graduation procedure is in our graduating student speakers: being a student speaker at graduation is now open to any graduating senior. In Q4, we’ll send out a form to all graduating students with an application to be a speaker, and we’ll make choices based on the merits of students’ stories. Families come to our school for a wide variety of reasons and many students who graduate with us have amazing stories to tell that we all benefit from hearing. We changed our Valedictorian and grad speaker policies because we wanted to simplify the requirements and also to open up those getting these awards to the broadest possible group. Our mission statement is ‘Inspiring diverse learners to succeed’ and what that success looks like differs in each circumstance. If you have any questions about these policies and procedures, please reach out to your counselors or other staff.

Additional Information

Extra Mile Arena – Graduate Exit (Boise)

After the ceremony at the Extra Mile Arena, graduates will exit through the back doors and walk around to the front of the arena to meet their families.

Families are asked to plan a meeting spot outside the arena entrance ahead of time to ensure a smooth and joyful reunion. This helps keep the flow of graduates moving and allows everyone to celebrate together safely and efficiently.

Will There Be Live Streaming of the Commencement Ceremonies?

No. People value their privacy differently. Instead, event guests are responsible for recording videos of their graduate(s) and sharing them with their loved ones who are not able to attend in person.

Laptop Return Information – DO NOT BRING THEM TO COMMENCEMENT

When graduating from iSucceed, Diplomas & Transcripts cannot be distributed until all devices and chargers are returned.

We will not be accepting devices at the graduation ceremony. Do not bring them with you.

To return the device you may bring it into our Boise Office or request a pre-paid shipping label. (IT will reach out after graduation for device collection)

You may also request a shipping label here: Tech Ticket

What to wear under you Graduation Robes

Business casual attire is best, worn with a good pair of shoes that you can walk in and manage steps comfortably and safely.

Honor Cord Information

Honor cords will be distributed at the ceremony. Honors status will be verified beforehand. Please reach out to your counselor directly if you have any questions about qualifying.

Diploma Information

As long as you’ve fulfilled all the requirements for your High School degree and returned any borrowed devices, you’ll receive your diploma in the mail 8-10 weeks following the end of your final term. If you haven’t already done so, you must confirm your mailing address with your counselor to ensure proper shipment. You will only receive your diploma cover on stage during the ceremony.

If you require verification of your graduation status, an official transcript can serve as acceptable proof. Transcripts can be requested on our website under the ‘Contact Us’ tab. If you have any questions or need transcript assistance, feel free to contact our registrar at (208) 375-3116 ext. 101

Your diploma will be printed using your full legal name. If any changes occur, replacement diplomas can be purchased at a later date. Your legal name change documentation must first be submitted to our Registrar.
