How many high schools do you know of that offer challenging and fun curriculum that students can really get into?
Our guess is just one: iSucceed.
That’s right. Our coursework goes way beyond those must-haves like rigor and accreditation to inspire our students with relevant information and cool elements — all delivered in ways to spark the imagination.
In this post, we’re shining the light on two recently released courses: Rhetoric and Composition (English 12A) and British Literature (12B).
Rhetoric & Composition
As you can see from our intro video below, we’ve approached Rhetoric in a fresh and unexpected way to teach students to think critically, learn how to persuade others and avoid being manipulated by groups or individuals.
According to English Instructional Designer, Megan, these courses were made to be interesting.
“Every time we put our fingers to the keyboard to create something, we want it to be engaging, useful and meaningful for students,” she said. “Rather than developing something you HAVE TO do, we create coursework you’ll look forward to diving into.”
We guarantee there will be something each student will be excited to discover and end up loving in Rhetoric because it covers the topics students care about like sports, technology, emotions, friends and family.
Here is an infographic from the course that shows how people use rhetoric and public advocacy to change lives:
British Literature
From conducting fictional interviews with characters from a dystopian novel to taking a Sherlock Holmes story and setting it in modern times, our British Literature class brings to life stories, poems and plays so students can see them in a new light.
Whether it’s creepy pieces or twisted tales, students will love the unexpected angles and surprise endings, and leave our class with a newfound appreciation for British Lit.
