Student Spotlights: Nicole Griffith

Student_Spotlight_BannerAt iSucceed Virtual High School, we have dedicated students who work hard to get their diplomas. That’s why we decided to start a Student Spotlight series, so we can shine the light on a few of our awesome students.

Our first student we’re going to spotlight is a recent graduate Nicole Griffith, whom you may remember for her inspiring speech given at the 2014 graduation ceremony.

Nicole was with iSucceed all four years, and switched to us because she did not feel comfortable in a traditional school setting.

“You (all) know something about me that no one is going to believe: I’m shy,” said Nicole to her 2014 graduating class.

In that speech, Nicole talked about how in her previous school, she didn’t feel comfortable raising her hand and asking questions. She told her classmates how she remained silent in a corner at her old school. When she switched to iSucceed, she had a class with history teacher, Mr. Rollins, who encouraged her to participate in class.

“(Mr. Rollins) was the first teacher I was able to ask a question,” Nicole said, “After he was so helpful and encouraging, I could ask another and then another.”

From that moment, Nicole said she started participating more and more in her courses and found her grades improving. She often attended school events, joined a few student clubs and got involved in her community. In 2014, Nicole was awarded Student of the Year at iSucceed!

At iSucceed, we know every student is important and unique!
