Meet Your Faculty & Staff
head of school
I started working for iSucceed when the school opened in 2008. Over the years, I've served many roles from Social Studies instructor, team leader, department head and student council mentor, to Operations and Program Coordinator, Head of School and Executive Director. One thing I've loved about iSucceed is the school culture. The teachers are dedicated and the students inspire me with their determination. I’ve been an educator since 1998 and enjoy working with a variety of students, subjects, and environments! I started teaching online in 2002, with the advent of online schooling in Idaho and it's been an exciting journey.
As an administrator, I love making an impact on the school from an educator perspective and I enjoy the process of improving programs to best meet the needs of students and parents. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities, exercise, music, reading, new technology, pop culture, learning, science fiction and art.
I have been an educator for the last 15 years, 8 in the brick-and-mortar setting, and 7 in online education. Prior to becoming an administrator I taught social studies and English courses, and at this point I’ve taught every grade level from 7th to 12th! I am passionate about all things history and for me, reading historical nonfiction is like reading novels. I have loved being a teacher and have really enjoyed interacting with students and trying to get them to enjoy history or English the way I do. In my spare time, I mostly like spending time with my wife and 3 children doing things like camping, watching movies, mountain biking, playing board games, snowboarding, and traveling to new places that we’ve never seen before.
I love how online education gives unique students choices. I once had an online student who was spending a year in Moscow (Russia not Idaho!) as an intern with the Bolshoi Ballet. I’ve also taught students training for the Olympics or other competitive sports, working students, and students who just wanted to do something different than traditional school, and to me it’s really neat to see students and families utilize this opportunity to work for their lives and schedules. I also love the technology aspect of this job and using awesome educational technologies to connect to students and to enhance instruction. The staff and school board at iSucceed are dedicated to providing a quality education to all students and I’m excited to be part of this team!
As the Operations Supervisor/Registrar for iSucceed Virtual High School, my main responsibilities are the support of the school and the maintenance of student records. Prior to iSucceed, I worked at Stevens-Henager College as their Registrar for 7 years. While there, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. My time spent in education has created a deep passion for helping student’s reach their academic goals, and I love that I am now on the iSucceed team, sharing that same goal with a great group of individuals.
Born and raised in Alaska, I find that Boise is a perfect medium of what I loved and what I could live without. I enjoy leisurely activities outdoors such as camping and lake fishing, and don’t miss waking up to 3 feet of fresh snow on the ground. When not at work, I am enjoying life with my husband and our young son. I spend lots of time in the kitchen cooking goodies and love sharing my culinary creations with others!
technology support specialist
Hello. I am the Technology Support Specialist at iSucceed Virtual High School. I help students with their computers and help them stay educated with technology. I’m very close to my family. I am married to my wonderful wife Tina and have 4 boys. I am also the oldest of eleven kids and an Uncle to 18 nieces and nephews. Needless to say, there is almost always a birthday party, sports event or other event going on. I am a native to the Treasure Valley and love everything it has to offer. As much as I love technology, I like to disconnect once in a while by hunting, fishing, and camping. I also love to Dutch Oven cook and have won several Dutch Oven cooking competitions.
I am thrilled to be here at iSucceed Virtual High School. I truly enjoy working with students and their parents. My life experience and education has prepared me for this amazing journey as a high school counselor. I am delighted that I get the opportunity to help support students, staff, and parents. My primary responsibilities include promoting the academic, social and personal development of all my students. On a more personal note, I have lived in the Boise area for the last 20 years and fall in love with this city more and more each day. I am so fortunate to live in an area where I can do so many of my favorite things. Some of my passions include camping, fishing, backpacking, rafting and surrounding myself with friends and family.
My passion in education is to help students find their strengths in life and prepare them for the future. I am currently the academic advisor at iSucceed where I am working with students to be successful in the program and create a goal path for their next adventure in life. Before moving to Idaho in 2015 I worked as an elective teacher at a middle school. During that time I earned a Master's Degree in technology education and an administrative credential.
When not working I love spending time with my family and outdoors. I enjoy riding horses, camping, hiking, exercise and road trips. When it is cold outside my inner California comes out and you can usually find me inside binge watching some Netflix or baking something yummy. One of my favorite things about Idaho is all of the different activities it offers. You can always find something to do!
Hi! My name is Misty Knuchell. I teach Special Education classes for iSucceed Virtual High School. I also assist administration with coordination of Special Education Services. I raised my two grown sons in Boise Idaho and it’s where I presently live. Family and friends are important to me and I spend as much quality time as I can with each and all. Speaking of ‘quality’, working here has been one of the best teaching jobs I’ve worked because it feels like a ‘family’ of co-workers! I have an eclectic background in education and have taught at elementary, middle school and high school level. I’ve taught both general education and special education in traditional and non-traditional educational settings. I’ve volunteered on state committees and the Idaho Council for Exceptional Children Board as a grassroots advocate who traveled to Wash DC four years in a row and shared out hot topics in Special Education with representatives of our state government. I also worked at the Idaho State Department of Education a short while. When it comes to education and the needs of all students, it’s my passion. I look forward to meeting/working with you and I hope you have a wonderful and successful experience with us here at iSucceed VHS.
I am very excited to join the iSucceed team! Before iSucceed, I was the school secretary for the Garden Valley School District. I wore many hats at Garden Valley and truly enjoyed working as the receptionist, registrar, clerk of the board and with accounts payable.
I was born and raised in Caldwell and moved to the big city of Boise in 1993. I have a wonderful husband, 3 awesome children and one great son-in-law - all of them are excellent examples of what happens when you pursue your dreams! My oldest daughter just completed her 3rd year residency with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. My younger daughter is pursuing her Masters in Geology at Portland State University. My youngest son is a musician here in Boise, following his dream of touring and playing across the Northwest. We have always taught our children to pursue what they love in life.
I love living in Idaho; where else can you find four distinct and beautiful seasons!? I'm a big football fan and love rooting for the local teams. My husband and I also love to travel and plan regular trips all across the United States.
I am looking forward to my new adventure with iSucceed Virtual HS.
